Calculating the grade of the slope requires knowing the length to be calculated (the Run) and the change in height (the Rise).
For this calcuation we take the Rise divided by the Run.
Grade Decimal = (Rise / Run)
This gives us the value in decimal, but since grade is a percentage, where we look at what is the percent value of the
height compared to length. We then need to multiply the answer given by 100 to put it into percent format
Grade Percent = Grade Decimal * 100.
