“In 2004 I was going through a divorce and decided that it was time for a career change too, so I gave a 30-day notice to the restaurant I had managed for 20 years. When I was looking for a new job, a relative that was working for Pihl Excavating recommended that I try it. I applied and got the job so at 46 years old, I started my new career at Pihl Excavating. The job was completely new to me since I had never set grade, operated heavy equipment, or anything related to excavating. The crews that I worked with taught me everything I needed to know. Even though I had no prior experience in this field of work, everyone was involved in my training. Nobody put me down for not knowing what they knew, and they all worked at bringing me up to their level of knowledge. The owner, Matt Pihl, engaged in my training from the start and has continued to give me great opportunities for growth. Here, at Pihl Excavating, if you want it and are willing to work and learn, then anything is possible. Now, I work as an estimator for the company and love it.
The pay and benefits are good with health insurance for you and your family, along with the company match towards a 401k. I have stayed here because it feels like a family, and we all get along and help each other.
Why don’t you make a change and come see where you fit into our family!”
